framas - a success story

Beginning

The origin of framas group was a small workshop where Franz Martz repaired and modified shoe lasts

1948

The company Franz Martz & Sons, was founded in the traditional shoe city of Pirmasens in Germany and has its origins in the production of wooden shoe lasts manly for the street- and fashion- shoe industry. Some years later the company was renamed to its present name framas.

1970

framas specializes in the manufacturing of plastic components for the sports footwear industry. This was also the start for framas in the age of Plastic Technology

1989

Due to the exit of the sports industry from the traditional shoe manufacturing regions in Europe and its movement to Asia framas dares this step as well with the foundation of its first establishment in Asia - the framas Korea Ltd. based in Asan South Korea which turned out to be an important and successful step for the growth and development of the framas group till today.

1994

Foundation of the P.T. framas Plastic Technologyin Jakarta, Indonesia as a second location in Asia. In the same year, there has been the foundation of the framas Korea R&D center in Busan South Korea to expand our development capacities, to provide to our customers an independent development center in which the first self owned framas mold shop is integrated.

1998

To meet the strong growth in the Chinese market and the expanding capacities of the athletic footwear industry in China, the first framas factory in China, the framas China Ltd. is founded in Dong Guan. Furthermore framas opens an administrative office in Hong Kong the framas Hong Kong Ltd.

2001

In Vietnam, the framas Vietnam Ltd.is founded. With this step framas proves once more the ability to respond flexibly and to react to the demands of the dynamic sports shoe market and show one more time the capability to act as a global partner.

2002

framas founds its second factory in China, the framas Fuzhou Ltd. , in Fuzhou to come along with the further expansion of the athletic footwear industry in China.

2004

Reconstruction of the headquarter in Pirmasens Germany to create a basis for the future technologies in order to support the strong growth of the whole framas group. The R&D Center in Korea Busan is also restructured and new technologies are added.

2006

Through the integration of another mold shop in Vietnam, framas is going ahead with its strategy to offer to our customers quality and confidentiality in mold making at each location.
In this year framas registered its marketing- and development office in USA the framas USA Inc. Also a substantial modernization of our shoe last department in framas Germany took place with the latest 3D technology.

2007

framas opens a new development center in Vietnam to be able to offer the competence and the know-how of the framas group in this location as well. In addition the move of both Chinese locations Fuzhou and Dong Guan to new production sites have been managed in this year.

2008

framas Indonesia establishes its own mold shop. Also the second factory in Vietnam is founded as a support for our production in Korea, the framas Korea Vina Ltd. in Saigon. Furthermore, in Hong Kong - the framas China Ltd. is founded and exists alongside to the framas Hong Kong Ltd. to administrate our Chinese factories. For both companies together, an independent office in Hong Kong is opened.

2009

Acquisition and integration of a mold shop in framas Dong Guan. With this decision the build-up of own mold shop capacities in our Asian subsidiaries is finalized.
Another milestone in framas history is the new building of a development center in Germany. Through this the framas development goes back to its roots with new technologies. The opening of this center will be in September 2009.
